Revolver, why revolver?

What is Revolver?

Well the series consists of 3 different but not too different Events. Choose all night, all day or part day part night, choose woodland, choose city parkland or choose rural wilderness, choose light, choose dark. Either way it's about good riding, good racing and turning the wheels... Providing good organisation with good services and a fun atmosphere.  Each event is different but the quality will remain the same.

Revolver, why Revolver?

The idea for the series came about while talking to Martyn Salt of InEvent. We were after an event to help promote the Gary Fisher brand as it had just developed G2 on both the Hi Fi and 29er frames. G2 isn’t specifically a geometry change although that does come into it, it is a component and steering change that fundamentally alters the performance of a bike to improve certain handling traits. There was a lot of information to get out, but in reality, the best way of making people aware of how it works was to get them riding the bikes. Step up Mr Salt with the original NightRider.

An integral part of the Revolver series is an all night, (or all day if you race Brighton), Gary Fisher demo. If you want to try a 29er or a Hi Fi, and I hope you do, the bikes will be there waiting. Just to make it really interesting and somewhat more interactive than a standard demo, the bikes will be equipped with Exposure Maxx lights, (except maybe in Brighton), and Garmin GPS units. More on this here.

We were driving down to London, three of us in the DemoDaze van, trying to think of names for the series. There was a movie twist coming into the event names themselves but we were stuck. We kept coming back to the fact that the three events were all different times of day, that the series was all about having that fun element that we used to have at the races when mountain biking was still young. After some time, numerous cups of coffee at the services, someone said we were going round in circles. Ping! On goes the light bulb- Revolver, and a series was born.
